Common questions
Short answers to what sitters ask most, with links to the full guide.
Setting up
My booking page says "Coming soon"
Owners see Coming soon until your background check has passed and you've saved your weekly hours. The page says which one is still missing. See Getting started.
I can't find my booking page link
It's in More → Profile & settings under Your booking page, once your business name has been approved. See Your booking page.
Why is my business name or bio "in review"?
Your business name, bio and photos are shown publicly, so we look them over before they appear. Your page keeps showing the approved version in the meantime. If a change isn't approved, the reason appears under it in the app.
Is the background check refundable?
No. The $60 fee covers the screening and payment processing, and it isn't refunded, including if the check doesn't pass. The app says this before you pay.
Do I need Stripe?
No. You can go live, take bookings and send invoices without it. Stripe is only needed if you want owners to pay you by card.
Bookings and clients
I can't find my booking requests
Open Today. When a request is waiting, a card under Needs attention says so — tap it. See Answering booking requests.
Can I add the clients I already have?
Yes — invite them. Go to Clients, tap Invite clients, and send each one an email invite. When they accept, they're on your Clients list and you can message each other. Your background check needs to have passed and your hours need to be saved first. See Inviting your clients.
You can also send them your booking page link: booking you through it puts them on your list too. There isn't a way to add a client by hand without them accepting.
Can I book a client myself?
Yes, for an owner you already have a conversation with in the app — anyone who has booked you before. Open your conversation with them in More → Messages, tap + Booking, and choose the service, time and pets. The owner gets a notification and confirms it.
Can I reschedule a booking?
Not yet. For now, cancel it and book the new time: open the booking from Calendar, tap Cancel this visit and give a reason, then book the new time with + Booking in your conversation with the owner — or ask them to book it through your page.
Can I block an owner?
Yes. Open your conversation with them, or their client record, tap ⋯ and choose Block. They can't message you or book with you, and they aren't told. Their past bookings, invoices and messages stay where they are. To undo it, go to Settings → Privacy → Blocked people and tap Unblock.
How do I report someone?
Tap ⋯ in your conversation with them and choose Report. To report one message, press and hold it. Pick a reason and add a note if you want to. They aren't told, and we don't send updates on what happens next.
What will CritterTrust act on?
Threats, harassment, sexual content sent without consent, and illegal content. We don't settle disagreements about bookings, prices or how someone writes. If you're in danger, call 911.
Blocking and reporting need the current version of the app. If you don't see them, update CritterTrust from the App Store or Google Play.
Money
Does CritterTrust take a cut of my bookings?
No — not on Starter, and not on Pro. Card payments carry Stripe's usual processing fee, which goes to Stripe. See Invoices and payments.
I recorded a payment wrong. Can I fix it?
Not in the app. Email support@crittertrust.com with the invoice number and what it should say.
The app
Tapping a notification just opens the app
That's expected for now — notifications don't jump to the booking or message yet. Open Today: new requests and unread messages are under Needs attention.
How do I delete my account?
More → Profile & settings, then Delete my account at the bottom. Before you go, tap Download my data to keep a copy of your bookings, invoices, payments and client list — we can't send them afterwards.
